BatLab is a software system for detecting and classifying bat echolocation calls. It provides a user interface for running inference on folders of .wav recordings, managing detector locations and species metadata, uploading labeled training calls, and fine-tuning specialized “subset” models from a shared base model for specific detectors and species.
Bat acoustics workflows are often slowed by the volume of field recordings and the time required for manual review, labeling, and organization. BatLab addresses this by centralizing classification, metadata management, and model training in one application so teams can produce consistent, repeatable results more efficiently.
